By an 80-15 vote, the Senate turned back a last-ditch effort to kill the bill, setting up a vote to approve the measure on Thursday. The House passed the bill last week, and the Senate was expected to send it to President Bush for his signature.
This just broke qbout 10 minutes ago. Does this mean they voted for cloture and only 15 dems voted against it. The article isn't big on details of how or when this was done.

I just recieved the following email from Chris Dodd for president. He is asking for all of us to help stop the Telcom Amnesty.
The email lays out the entire process in very simple terms and makes it clear that there is much the Dems can do to stop this travisty. Dodd is taking the lead on this and we need to help go below the fold to find out how. We only need 10 votes on the Senate Judiciary Committee. I included the entire email since it give a good run down and very specific language to use when we call. I know we are in a very up hill battle here but if not now when? OK Are the winds of change finally blowing? I've had CNN playing in the backround all day and they have given massive coverage to both the Dufar Rallythat is going on in DC today and the upcomming immigrants rights marches tomorrow.
CNN has announced that they will be giving coverage all day to tomorrows action, even hooking up with Univision to provide spanish language coverage. They are starting at 6AM.
They also did interviews with business owners who are closing down for the day calling it "Immigrant Appreciation Day". Including a spokesman for Cargill.

`Given the expanding scope of the investigation into the executive branch, public confidence in the process will be ensured only if you recuse yourself,'' the senators wrote.

There is an excellent diary on what the debate over the last few days should have looked like, but nobody bothered to read it. So as your cheering the funeral comments try thinking about what she stood for.
Is closing in on the 50K mark. We are just 4500 short and Majority Report just did two pushes in the last hour. Can we make it over the $50,000 point by midnight. Think of the great press release the campaign could put out. And think of the message it will give to all those turncoat Dems.
