Nevada Primary: The aftermath

Wed Aug 16, 2006 at 01:11:56 PM PDT

As some of you may have heard, Jack Carter pulled off an easy win last night in Nevada's Primary.  Besides the Carter race, there were a few other important developments in yesterday's Primary:

Progressive Democrat Chris Giunchigliani pulled off a big win and oustered incumbent Democrat Myra Williams for Clark County Commission Seat E.  Williams was hurt because she was seen by many as being in the pocket of developers.  This is my own district and I'm very happy with this outcome.

Progressive Democrat Dina Titus won the nomination for Nevada Governor over conservative Henderson Mayor Jim Gibson.  Titus will go on to face Congressman Jim Gibbons in the General.  Gibbons is currently the front runner.

In the Republican Primary for the 2nd Congressional District, Secretary of State Dean Heller seems to have won by only 428 votes against a Club for Growth endorsed candidate.

Democrat Tessa Hafen won her Primary easily to take on Bush rubber-stamp Jon Porter in November.
