Republican Convention Agenda

Fri Feb 22, 2008 at 02:49:15 PM PDT

Some Republicans I used to work with just forwarded a "joke" – and I use the term loosely – Democratic National Convention Schedule, filled with rib-tickling fake agenda items such as

7:00 pm - Opening flag burning
7:20 pm - Ted Kennedy proposes a toast
7:25 pm - Nonreligious prayer and worship with Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton
7:55 pm - Ted Kennedy proposes a toast
8:00 pm - How I Invented the Internet - Al Gore
8:15 pm - Gay Wedding Planning - Barney Frank presiding
8:35 pm - Ted Kennedy proposes a toast & explains the new amnesty program
8:40 pm - Our Troops are War Criminals - John Kerry
9.00 pm - Memorial service for Saddam and his sons - Cindy Sheehan and Susan Sarandon . . . .

Well, you get the idea.

The real coincidence here is that I just received a leaked copy of the agenda for the upcoming Republican National Convention.

Kos should apologize to Salladay

Thu Sep 14, 2006 at 03:24:46 PM PDT

Kos was clearly wrong to label Robert Salladay a racist on the basis of this Kevin Drum insinuation.

Now for all I know, Salladay may be a racist.  I don't know him and had never read him before today.

But what I do know is that there is no evidence of racism in the blog post in question.

I would sooner spit on Sen. Felix Macaca (R-VA) than shake his hand, and I have no patience, tolerance, or forgiveness in me for coded racism.  But that's clearly not what Salladay was engaged in.

Rebel Leader George Allen

Thu Apr 27, 2006 at 10:45:24 AM PDT

Apologies if this has been diaried or posted already, but I didn't find it in a search.

Taegan Goddard's Political Wire has a preview of Ryan Lizza's upcoming New Republic profile on Virginia Senator George Allen.

Apparently young George had quite an affinity for the Confederate Flag -- which would be regrettable but perhaps not terribly shocking if Allen had grown up in the South instead of in California.

Deeds not done in Virginia

Wed Nov 09, 2005 at 09:18:53 AM PDT

Creigh Deeds, that is.

It's now close to 100% of precincts reporting, but Deeds is still closing the gap in the Virginia AG race.  McDonnell's lead is down to 1,976 votes.

Six-PAC and Campaign for a National Majority are two of the groups that jumped into this extremely close race hoping to make a difference.  [Full disclosure -- I am a member of Six-PAC and friends with the CNM crew.]  In '06, '08, and beyond, grass roots organizations like ours will keep working to amplify the efforts of the kos community, DFA, MoveOn, and all of you out there -- because we all know that the crooked authors of the "Republican Revolution" myth have written their last chapter.
