I'm proud of you...

Tue Jun 24, 2008 at 10:07:28 AM PDT

This election represents a hope I have for my country.  After eight years of darkness and a self-serving and destructive administration, I still have hope.  That’s what makes me a democrat, a belief that our country can and will reach its full potential.

It hasn’t always been easy, and at times it’s been downright hard and depressing.  Especially, since it seems we lost one of the greatest resources for truth this country has ever had… an independent and truthful media.

I took my first journalism class in 1978 as a freshman in high school, became editor of the school paper, and continued to write professionally (as a sideline) as a columnist for a trade journal into the early 00s.  I was always taught that journalists have a responsibility to the truth and to their audience.

Today, I am dismayed, and a bit alarmed, at the MSM; but, I still have hope because of you…I’m proud of you....

Why Obama will win Nevada

Sun Jun 15, 2008 at 01:29:53 PM PDT

The latest presidential election poll for Nevada was release today.  McCain leads Obama, 44% to 42% with a margin of error of 4%.

Details of the poll were covered by Paleo but I want to share some insight on why I KNOW OBAMA WILL WIN NEVADA!!!

Nevada State Convention: Obama Gets Additional Delegate!!!

Sat May 17, 2008 at 01:07:24 PM PDT

In my first diary, a welcome to my state and please help my state...

This early spot on the calendar saw an avalanche of Nevada's democratic power elite line up behind Hillary. Clark County is home to about 70% of the state's population, and the chairman of the county commission, Rory Reid (Harry's son) signed on as Hillary's top dog in the silver state.  Dina Titus, the failed democratic gubernatorial candidate in the 2006 election brought her immense ground team to the HRC campaign.

Today is the climax, and the second tier results, from county conventions, left us with 49% Obama to 51% Clinton.

Three Nevada bloggers are at the convention covering it, follow me below the fold for more.

Update: Obama Flips Clinton's Win in Nevada

The final tally: Obama won 14 national delegates and Clinton won 11 national delegates. Under the caucus results, Obama was expected to win 13 national delegates to Clinton's 12. Although Clinton won the caucuses, Obama out-performed her in rural Nevada and Washoe County.

The convention has 1 more delegate to name, although that person goes to the national convention unpledged.
