The Next Bush/Rove Smokescreen
Thu Aug 09, 2007 at 08:06:25 AM PDT
There he goes again! How appropriate these words of President Reagan, from two decades ago, apply to the Bush/Rove insanity spin.
This morning, we are treated to this Gem in the Washington Post:
Bush May Try to Cut Corporate Tax Rates
So what's this really about?
Democratic Party is growing more liberal

Well yesterday was none too happy around here with the results of the FISA ammendment vote and other irritants.
Nightprowlkitty shared her Pain, inclusiveheart was DONE, Hillary and the DLC took some lumps, and Jim Webb's statement didn't go over too well.
New Bill Criminalizes Attempted IP Infringement

The title says it all. I can't say I'm surprised this comes from a republicon, Steven Chabot (R-Ohio).
A new bill, HR 3155 entitled "Intellectual Property Enhanced Criminal Enforcement Act of 2007" looks to embed "gotcha" into the innovation process.
My apologies if this seems short, but it is important to allow free thinking and exploration of new ideas.
A Message to Mitt from a Potential Boss

I address this to Mitt Romney since he demonstrates the most vocal disdain for the desires of the American citizens. In reality though it applies to all presidential candidates.
Part of me has no motivation to offer any form of positive counsel. But I want to have the candidates face some genuine, hopefully challenging questions. I want to see both sides think, or sink, on their feet. I want to see them sweat while attempting to earn their desired new employment.
This is a job I am hiring for. It has tremendous responsibility. I will not have a candidate instruct me how I should conduct my interview.
Life Without Fox

This is a first diary. My apologies for any rough edges, but had to jump in sometime.
Long ago our founding fathers envisioned unfettered public debate on issues of importance. On matters large and small, they expected citizens to engage one another, share differing opinion, and reconcile disparate views into cohesive public policy. Unfortunately, through the end of the 20th century, this public debate had become mostly extinct and policy was mostly dictated.
However, after years of laying dormant on the carpet of one-way broadcast television and radio, the public forum has returned with a vengeance. In the 21st century the Internet newsgroups, forums, and weblogs are returning the debate to the public. This is a Very Good Thing.
